The DP World Tour is the premier men’s professional golf tour of the European group.
This is a global, elite level circuit. That means it includes more diverse and strategic courses from all over the world, as opposed to the PGA Tour, for example, which focuses on the US.
The schedule typically runs from November through to the following November, making it a year round tour which starts again almost as soon as it ends.
The five Rolex Series events are where the biggest prize money can be found, and the new Race to Dubai format has ensured the competition stays tight until the very end of the season. The BMW PGA Championship, held in September at the Wentworth Club in Surrey, is widely considered to be the flagship event, with the Dubai Desert Classic & the Abu Dhabi Championship being highlights in the earlier stages.
