2026 Winter Championships – A Winter Test for Pros: Courses, Challenges, and What to Expect

Professional golf players don’t take breaks, even in winter. With events like the PGA Series, golfers have a lot to look forward to. Not long ago, the PGA released the tournament schedule for 2026. This will not only improve the PGA tournaments’ financial situation but also increase participation.

What stands out about the schedule for 2026 is that it coincides with the 125th anniversary of the series. The schedule is sponsored by Callaway. Because it was unveiled a month earlier compared to previous years, PGA Members have more time to prepare for the season and plan it accordingly.

Preparations for the 2026 PGA Tour

On November 23, the 2025 PGA Tour ended. Sami Valimiaki won the RSM Classic at Sea Island Golf Club.

Now, people are getting ready for the 2026 PGA Tour. While they will have some time off to enjoy the winter holidays, most golfers will return not long after the New Year. The PGA Tour starts on January 15, 2026, at the Sony Open in Hawaii. The tour had to cancel The Sentry since the lack of irrigation would have been a major issue. As such, the Sony Open event will be the only one in Hawaii.

However, many players are preparing for the Winter Series, which is set to begin in March. The Schedule was finally released, and supporters are wondering who will win this time and are getting ready to place bets on sites like GGBet.

Richard Barker, Executive Director for the PGA, made some comments on the 2026 schedule:

“We’re pleased not only to announce the tournament schedule even earlier than 2025, but also that we’re able to showcase the action being taken in line with our overarching tournament strategy, which I would encourage Members to familiarize themselves with, if they haven’t already.”

According to Richard Barker, they are committed to communicating with PGA Members consistently. They will explain every change to any of their events. Also, they will show how the changes will influence the experiences of PGA Members. The goal is to offer tournaments that meet the needs and desires of the Association and its Membership.

The Winter Series Will Expand Across Three Different Regions

The PGA Winter Championships in 2026 will take place across three different geographical locations. These include the East, West, and South. Every member in Wales and England can participate.

Besides, the prize money will also be influenced by how many entries the event has. From the first moments of the season, the schedule will offer competitive opportunities. It will also take ongoing County-level activity into account during winter.

The PGA Winter Championships will start in March 2026. The venues will include Camberley Heath, West Surrey, and Farnham Golf Club.

The 2026 Winter Championships will begin on March 26 with the West Surrey event. Registrations for it close on March 12.

Then, the next event will be at Woodcote Park on March 30, followed by Weston-Super-Mare on April 2. The Mid Kent event will unfold on April 14, while the Tidworth Garrison one will take place on April 15.

On April 20, golf players will participate in the Nazeing event, and on April 29, the Farnham tournament will unfold. The PGA Winter Series will conclude with Camberley Heath on April 30.

Jordan Spieth Is Feeling Much Better

Jordan Spieth has experienced an injury that needed to be surgically repaired. Because of this, he missed the second half of 2024 and couldn’t work on his game last winter. This year, he missed several PGA Tour events.

Since he wasn’t able to practice properly in the offseason, his performance during the season wasn’t the best. However, since then, he has been working hard to get better. During the offseason, he began to prepare for 2026.

He claimed that he is now very healthy and that last season he was in a cast, which is what stopped him from spending time practicing his skills. As such, he was happy to finally have five months to strengthen his play before the new competitions.

“I’m healthy; I’m stronger than I’ve been in a long time, and we’ve had good weather in town, so I’ve been able to get a lot of work in, but also a lot of family time. It’s been a really good mix, and I look forward to seeing it up here in a couple of weeks and then starting the season in Hawaii,” Spieth said.

Fans hope to see him performing in 2026 at the PGA Winter Championships. While he may not be the top player, he will surely make his supporters happy and offer a good golf game.

Who Else Can We Expect During the PGA Winter Series?

Various players have already entered the PGA Winter Series tournaments. The first event, which will start on March 26, 2026, will have Lewis Blair as its controller. Some entries so far include Louis Boston, Joshua Bristow, Matthew Chivers, Conor Cull, and Martin Dunsford.

The next few events have Adrian Evans as the tournament controller. Some of the same entries from the previous events can be seen here, too, but also with an entry by Jamie Figg.

Other entries in some of the other PGA Winter Series events include Jonathan Gibbons, Arron Fitzsimmons, Matt Ford, Simon Hobbs, and Josh Harvey.

The 2026 Winter Champions event is just around the corner. People can watch pro and amateur players do their best to win. Entries are still available for all the tournaments in the winter series, and the prices go above £100 for each.

Fans are advised to keep checking the PGA channels for more information and updates about the winter series. While we don’t know the prize funds for all events, some of them go beyond £1,000, so it’s safe to say that the players will show some of the best performances.
